Asbestos removal might seem like a world away from community events and inclusion drives, but for us at R & M Asbestos Removal and Demolition, community is at the heart of everything we do. We are more than just a company; we are a group of dedicated individuals driven by a shared purpose—to make our community a safer, healthier, and more inclusive place.
This year, we are incredibly proud to have sponsored and participated in the 27th Annual Puget Sound Buddy Walk® in collaboration with the Down Syndrome Center (DSC) of Puget Sound. This event resonates deeply with our commitment to building a community that's inclusive, caring, and united.
For those unfamiliar with this momentous event, the Puget Sound Buddy Walk® is a celebration promoting acceptance, inclusion, and respect for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Thousands from not just Seattle, but around the world, join together for DSC's most anticipated event, expressing unity and commitment to an inclusive society.
This heartwarming gathering also functions as a crucial fundraiser, with proceeds helping the DSC provide essential programs, support, resources, outreach, and advocacy.
Joining hands with a plethora of supporters, we celebrated this day on Sunday, October 8th at the scenic Woodland Park Zoo. A day marked with joy, unity, and a powerful message of acceptance.
In 1995, the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) introduced the Buddy Walk to commemorate Down Syndrome Awareness Month. Since then, the event has become an international phenomenon, with over 300,000 individuals participating annually.
Special Mention: For those attending, please remember that tickets will be available at the registration table starting 9:30 AM at the West Entrance. For easy access, utilize the Otter and Penguin parking lots.
At R & M Asbestos Removal and Demolition, we're dedicated to ensuring that our community is free from health risks associated with asbestos. But beyond our professional commitment, we are equally dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity in Seattle. Through events like the Puget Sound Buddy Walk®, we aim to bridge the gap between various facets of our community, ensuring everyone is celebrated, supported, and included.
We look forward to seeing you at our next event and together, let's continue taking steps towards building an inclusive Seattle!
